In the last 40 years, the environment has been damaged by planting eucalyptus trees in abundance.

In the scriptures, Peepal has been called the king of trees.

मूले ब्रह्मा त्वचा विष्णु शाखा शंकरमेवच।
पत्रे पत्रे सर्वदेवायाम् वृक्ष राज्ञो नमोस्तुते।।
